CFI uniquely focuses on the fiscal and economic implications of policy affecting working families as well as how public resources are allocated to meet public needs. Too often, what things cost and how they will be paid for are secondary considerations. At CFI, who pays for services, the methods used to raise revenue, the economic impact of public investments and the role of public services on the economy, communities and individuals are our top priorities.
In Colorado, with TABOR and related constitutional provisions, analyzing how resources are raised and allocated is critically important to the state’s future. CFI’s work supports the efforts of a range of advocacy organizations with expertise in particular policy areas to develop stronger voices for expanding the middle class and promoting economic prosperity.
