 Bill signing 1018

Gov. John Hickenlooper today signed HB 1018, which makes permanent a report produced by the Department of Revenue that documents the tax expenditures – including credits, exemptions and deductions – in Colorado.

These add up to more than $2 billion a year, but until CFI pushed for a report documenting these expenditures several years ago, there was never comprehensive documentation on them.

Today’s action by Gov. Hickenlooper ensures this critical transparency and accountability for Colorado taxpayers continues. Thanks to the bill’s sponsors, Sen. Pat Steadman and Rep. Millie Hamner!

CFI’s tax policy attorney, Ali Mickelson, was on hand for the bill signing.
