Climate Justice Messaging Guide

This messaging guide will help advocates create effective messages for talking about climate policy and climate justice with climate advocates familiar with climate justice (e.g. grassroots and national climate organizations, active supporters), rural voters who may acknowledge the effects of climate change but are skeptical of solutions, and policymakers (e.g. heads of Budget Committees, Commissions on Climate Change, etc.). These recommendations were developed using qualitative and quantitative public opinion research on attitudes on climate. This guide is rooted in The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities’ Climate Justice Policy Basic which includes the framework for climate action. Also included are key talking points related to advocacy around the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Questions or comments? Contact Keecee DeVenny at kdevenny@cbpp.org.
