The Daily Beast quoted Tim Hoover, CFI’s communications director, about the misunderstanding that Colorado’s marijuana taxes were widely successful. The truth is that the state collected $44 million in taxes in 2014 which was $25 million less than projected. Rebates were given not because Colorado collected an enormous amount of money, but rather because there is a little-known provision in the state’s constitution.
