Seattle Times quotes CFI on uncertainty associated with estimating marijuana tax revenues

The state Economic and Revenue Forecast Council estimates that the state will generate $1.1 billion in marijuana tax revenue over the next four years. This surprising amount needs to be taken with a grain of salt however; The Seattle Times explains why this estimation needs to be viewed with a great level of uncertainty. As a state, Colorado is rather inexperienced with taxing marijuana and it is unknown how much revenue will actually be collected in this new territory.
