The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette was one of a few papers to run an article highlighting Colorado’s current state budget dilemma. Although Colorado has one of the fastest growing economies in the nation, we are limited to the amount of revenue we can collect due to TABOR. These voter-sanctioned tax limits are forcing Colorado to make budget cuts for multiple priorities such as education and transportation. As a result, Colorado ranks poorly amongst the nation for K12 spending and is constrained by how much road and transportation improvements we can make.
