New York Times editorial calls for full repeal of TABOR
April 6, 2015
In an editorial, The New York Times today pointed out the “glitch” in TABOR that is forcing refunds of marijuana taxes despite the fact that those taxes have come in lower than expected.
“After Colorado voters legalized marijuana, they also approved heavily taxing it and using the money for school construction, law enforcement, drug education and other useful things. The arrangement made perfect sense,” The Times said. “But now the 15-month-old experiment has entered a phase that makes no sense at all.”
