Denver Post quotes CFI on property taxes

The Denver Post quoted CFI’s Economist Chris Stiffler, about the downfall of Colorado’s low property tax rates. Colorado’s residential properties are taxed at some of the lowest rates in the country. These low rates however, come with a price. When local governments and school districts do not collect enough in property taxes, the state must back-fill its coffers, leaving less money for other priorities like roads and higher education. Colorado’s low property tax rates, place more pressure on the state budget.
