CFI listed as a group opposed to Amendment 71
Public News Service listed CFI as one of the groups against Amendment 71 in a piece highlighting the opposition’s argument. Amendment 71, also known as Raise the Bar, would make it harder to amend the state’s constitution by requiring citizen-led amendments to collect signatures totaling at least 2 percent of residents in each of the state’s 35 Senate districts. As a result, one or two neighborhoods in the Denver area could keep the entire rest of the state from considering an issue that the overwhelming vast majority of Coloradans want. This amendment goes a step too far.
