Chris Stiffler is voice of reason – marijuana tax

The Yankee Institute for Public Policy quoted CFI in a piece discussing the potential legalization of recreational marijuana in Connecticut, and what kind of impacts, small or large, it has on a state’s economy. Colorado is featured throughout this piece as an example of a state with a thriving economy as well as a state with legalized recreational marijuana. This piece explores how much of a role Colorado’s marijuana tax laws play in the strength of the state’s economy. CFI’s economist, Chris Stiffler is quoted as the voice of reason saying that marijuana taxes help, but on a much smaller scale than most people think. In terms of the state’s overall budget, marijuana tax revenue makes up less than one percent of the state’s budget.
