CFI’s Chris Stiffler writes a column for The Denver Post on the reality of the marijuana tax

The Denver post published a guest column written by CFI’s economist, Chris Stiffler, about the reality of the marijuana tax in Colorado. Although recreational marijuana sales generated $77.9 million in fiscal year 2014-15, this revenue is not enough to fix our budget woes. Even though $80 million seems like a whole lot, when looking at the revenue generated from marijuana taxes in comparison to the state general fund, marijuana taxes account for less than 1% of that.
