Denver Business Journal quotes CFI on opposition of new IT data center bill

CFI’s opposition to a bill granting a sales tax break for equipment purchased for IT data centers, was noted in an article by The Denver Business Journal.

There is a lot of opposition about whether or not data centers are a good source for creating jobs. CFI notes that Iowa gave Microsoft about $20 million in incentives for a data center that only produced 86 jobs; but on the contrary, the Colorado Technology Association claims that these centers produce five service-industry and service-economy jobs for every one they bring.
