KDVR cites CFI on increases in RTD fares

On Tuesday, the RTD Board of Directors voted to increase train fairs by 15 percent; however, many individuals and nonprofit groups are in opposition. KDVR cited CFI saying that 27 percent of RTD riders make less than $15,000 a year and more than half are considered low income. These rides are what many low-income individuals rely on and increasing their fairs will make it more difficult for them to afford transportation.
